Daytime Beginning Meditation Class
with Katherine Barr
thursdays in june, 10:00 - 11:30 am
This five-week class will offer an experiential introduction to meditation and the Buddha’s teachings. Participants will have an opportunity to develop the practice of mindfulness as taught by the Buddha, a practice of moment-to-moment observation that cultivates a clear, stable and non-judgmental awareness. This practice can bring more calmness to one’s daily life as well as gradually dissolve the barriers to clear seeing. All are welcome—beginners as well as experienced practitioners.
DATES: Thursdays, June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m
VENUE: Durango Dharma Center, 1800 East 3rd Ave.
COST: $20. Financial assistance is available by contacting Terry Leonard, whose info is below. Registration fees support the Durango Dharma Center. This class is offered on the basis of dana, a practice of mutual generosity that has been alive since the time of the Buddha. At the end of the class there will be an opportunity to offer a donation to the teacher.
